Hills & Valleys Riesling is crafted from premium Riesling grapes sourced from both grower vineyards and the Estate's own vineyards. With immediate enjoyment in mind, it can also age well for 4-6 years. The 2024 Pikes Traditionale Riesling celebrates its 40th vintage, sourced from the Polish Hill River estate and selected Clare Valley vineyards. It features a classic style—bright, textural, and long - lasting. The season yielded bold, balanced fruit, and the winemaking was simple: free - run juice, wild fermentation, and a few months of lees aging to add texture while maintaining freshness.
The wine is filled with vibrant citrus notes like Meyer lemon and lime cordial, along with a hint of peachy roundness and the signature Clare Valley mineral edge. Crisp, clean, and quietly complex, it is delicious now and has the potential to age for a decade or more. It has received high scores from critics, such as 94 points from Ken Gargett, who praised its lemon/lime aromas, florals, and oystershell notes, as well as its balanced acidity and impressive length.
